It is proven that undergraduates generally put on an average of 6.8 kg during their first year of study.

Nicholas Freudenberg, co-director of the Healthy CUNY initiative and public health professor at the CUNY School of Public Health at Hunter college said that ” For many campus administrators around country, food is seen as a revenue stream for strapped universities thatn as a vehicle for improving health.

Also i found out that a few of the major factors that lead to students to eat unhealthy food rather than healthy during lunch time is because cafeterias do not provide enough variety of fruits and vegetables. Moreover, if you want to buy something like this the price will be higher than processed snacks.
Whats more is that food in cafeterias does not provide most of the nutritional information of the food that they are selling.
