Week 39_ Workshop 1 for FMP

Today’s workshop was about to remind us the phases that we need to follow while we are developing our FMProject so that we have a structure in our work in order to not skip anyting accidentally.

The first thing that our tutor mention was about the “known” and the “unknown”. The idea is that in order to create something unknown you need to find insights that are known and the create the unknown because then it remains a fantasy. The idea is to add something new on a “Known” thing and create the “unknown”.

“”The model illustrates the idea that one must move into the ‘unknown’ to create something new to the world. If one stays out there-it remains fantasy. One must return and add new insights to the known world to be creative. (SAKFriis, 2004)””

Then he mentioned on the Herbert Simon’s model of the design process, in particular the ‘collect’ and comprehend’ phases. This model is explaining the stages that we need to follow while we are developing our FMProject so as to not skip anything and then leave something important that we needed to do.

The last part of our workshop was to separate in groups and worked the Saturate and Group method on the insights that we already gathered by sharing them with our peers so as to tell us what they thing is the most important one and then on a post its to write down ideas that are related and interesting for our project in order to come out with something that it can help us at the next stage of our project.
